The concept of self-affirmation refers to two characteristics that have been shown to distinguish successful people from the psychological and effective health viewpoints in Social relations. Several studies have been done in order to study the relationship between the family climate and assertive behavior, whether positive behavior, negative behavior or aggressive behavior, including the study of Nader Abu Ayyash (1992). This study aimed to know the effect of both family upbringing and age on self-assertion among students at a stage Middle adolescence, the “Abu Jabal” family upbringing scale and the self-assertion scale of Rathus were used. The results showed that female students who received a democratic family upbringing were more certain to themselves than others who were raised in a family practicing authoritarian upbringing. Also, a study by Roe of samples of individuals showed a group of biologists, physics and social sciences who enjoy good mental health in the light of one of its most prominent manifestations is mental superiority, and it relied on the curriculum vitae of scientists as it revealed the factors that led and contributed to the formation of the ability of these Scientists on innovation and the study reached results stating that these scientists were treated by their parents for a treatment characterized by freedom and a high degree of independence and sound family relations as well as the satisfaction of their needs, meaning that the family climate of these scholars was a healthy family climate. As well as the study of Elham Nsour (2004), which aimed to know the relationship between the pattern of family upbringing on the one hand, and the concept of self and self-affirmation on the other hand, among male and female students in the tenth grade in Amman. The sample of the study consisted of 358 students. The results of the study showed that there is a correlation between the democratic pattern in upbringing and the concept of the self in the intellectual and school dimension and after the contentment and happiness of the concept of the self and there is a relationship between the democratic style and self-affirmation in commercial transactions, argument, general and automatic discussion and avoiding confrontation in a public place.
We conclude from the results of studies conducted in this field that they agreed on the existence of a positive correlation between the family climate represented in the family relationships intact on the one hand to satisfy the needs of the children on the one hand and the manifestations of sound mental health. Whenever the family relations are good and coherent between the parents and between family members and all of them are based on love, respect and cooperation, as well as each person fulfilling his responsibilities towards his family and satisfying the needs of the children in a moderate manner, whenever a healthy prisoner climate is common that works to create a free psychological climate free from the factors of cessation which enriches the field Psychological as appropriate, which gives the individual more opportunities to use the factors and mental energies and other emotional energies.
